Follow in the footsteps of Disneyland Resort performers as you go through the process of a simulated audition. Work together to learn choreography from an actual Disney production and gain valuable insight from a Disney teaching artist on how to make your audition shine!

Workshop Overview

Intermediate to advanced dance ensembles experience an audition like no other—one where the Teaching Artist critiques the performances as a show director and choreographer and gives advice on how to land jobs as professional dancers. Learn choreography based on a Disney production and learn important insights along the way.

During this 90-minute session, your dance group will be cast then put through the paces as they:

  • Gain an understanding of preparation techniques and exercises
  • Rehearse choreography based on a real Disney production
  • Learn tricks of the trade that bring out your individual performance as an artist and make your audition sparkle

Requirements: This course has a minimum of 20 participants. Ensembles must provide a video submission. Minimum age is 14 years old.

This performance opportunity fulfills many of the National Core Arts Standards for creation, performing, responding and connecting. Review the standards explored through this experience.

How to Apply

Submit your completed Disney Performing Arts Application to us at least 8 weeks before the requested date of your event. (Application materials can be accepted up to one year in advance.)

Your group's audition will be evaluated on the following:

  • Appearance and costumes
  • Interpretation and execution of music, choreography and/or marching
  • Showmanship and stage presence
  • Accompanists
  • Overall show value
