Festival Overview

Achieve performance excellence at a competitive music festival produced by Disney. When you own the Disney stage, you own the world. Join Festival Disney and give your talented vocal ensemble the chance to compete with other groups from schools across the country.

Disney Performing Arts is extremely proud to be endorsed by the National Association for Music Education.

To date, Festival Disney has been adjudicated by more than 150 distinguished collegiate music educators, including these vocal education specialists:

  • Dr. Mitos Andaya, Temple University
  • Dr. Jerry Blackstone, University of Michigan
  • Dr. William Powell, Auburn University
  • Dr. Rosephanye Powell, Auburn University
  • Dr. Russell Robinson, University of Florida
  • Dr. Hugh Floyd, Furman University
  • Dr. John Sinclair, Rollins College

Directors can also choose non-competitive adjudication status for their performance ensembles.

You will receive a Festival Disney Handbook with important event information and the festival schedule approximately 6 weeks prior to the event.

Choose between competitive and non-competitive adjudication status, including ratings but no rankings or comments only. For your own group's enrichment, you should also schedule time for your students to watch other ensembles perform.

Festival Disney events will take place at a number of venues in and around the Walt Disney World Resort. Venues will be listed as part of the festival schedule and maps/directions will be included in the Festival Disney Handbook approximately 6 weeks prior to the event.

Solo & Ensemble

We are proud to now also offer the Festival Disney Solo & Ensemble competition, which allows students to receive ratings and written feedback from a nationally recognized Festival Disney adjudicator. To maximize time for students to experience the Disney Parks with their fellow performers, all performance videos are submitted online prior to arrival.

This virtual competition is for solos and ensembles of 9 or less performers, who are already part of a group performing at Festival Disney. Additional details will be sent to each director once the group registration is confirmed.

Festival Disney Medal
All performers will receive an exclusive Festival Disney Medal to commemorate their participation—whether their ensemble is in a competitive classification, or only performing for comments.

Best in Class
Within each Division and Classification, a "Best in Class" ensemble is selected (e.g. top high school concert band in Class A or top middle school mixed choir). Your ensemble must be one of 2 or more competitive ensembles within a division and classification in order to be eligible.

Festival Disney Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards
If your ensemble is among the 3 highest, superior-rated ensembles in your category—regardless of classification—you will receive one of these awards of distinction. (High schools and middle schools are awarded separately.)

Special Awards
Additional special awards may be presented at the discretion of the adjudicators.
